This is an example, but real, page about a Dream-compatible
product.
| Vendor |
The PROACTIS Group in partnership with
Suddensource Ltd. Contact
sales@suddensource.com. |
| Product Name |
Proactis 2, formerly known as
DreamSuite. Don't confuse this with the PROACTIS Group's current
Product portfolio (Proactis P2P, Plaza, Expenses, etc). |
| Main functions |
The product's main functions are
purchase ordering/invoicing, stock control, sales ordering/invoicing,
accruals and an Excel interface. Subsidiary functions include credit
control, XML import/export, reporting, sales order bundles and works
orders. |
| Detailed description |
Proactis 2 allows DREAM
users to create sales or purchase orders, on which despatch notes/GRNs
are based, and on which invoices are based in turn. The invoices are
then posted to DREAM using the External DLL. The customers/suppliers
are read from DREAM, though additional data can be held against the
accounts within Proactis. Items to use on documents are maintained
within Proactis. Items are linked to purchase, sales and stock
nominals, with support for first and second ledgers, and both free
wildcards and departmental costing. Items can be stock or non-stock
items. For stock items, full stock records are maintained. Stock
issues, transfers, etc can also be posted to DREAM. Items can be
linked to accounts with account-specific prices/descriptions. Proactis
2 fully supports Dream's multi-company and multi-currency features.
Other features include accruals, which can be posted to DREAM, XML
import/export of orders and invoices, Credit Control, and Excel-based
requisition wizard and wide range of Excel-based reporting and data
load utilities. |
| Number of DREAM
users |
8 organisations use Proactis
2 in
conjunction with DREAM as at 1st June 2007. |
| Relationship with
DREAM |
Proactis 2 shares a
database with DREAM. It uses DREAM master files (customers, suppliers,
periods, nominals, VAT periods, currencies, etc). It uses the DREAM
users table - though users can be in zero-level groups if required, so
that a DREAM user
licence is not required if a user doesn't also use DREAM. Proactis uses its
own tables to store its own data. It updates DREAM only via the
External DLL. |
| Version limitations |
Proactis 2 currently (@ version
2.10.0) works with any version of DREAM up to and including 3.3. |
| Price range |
For a 10-user licence and
a typical set of functional modules, the price per
concurrent user starts at about £2500. Support costs vary from 15-30% of
the total licence price. |
| Platform |
The product is a Windows-based
client-server system using a Sybase infrastructure which is installed with
the product. It requires DREAM to be installed on Microsoft SQL Server
7 or later. Some of the most complex data updates are done by means of
server-based procedures to cut down on network traffic. Some features
require Microsoft Office 2000 or later. |
