| Our Spring 2010
meeting was held at the Zoological Society of London (London Zoo) on Thursday 27th May 2010. A
healthy 39 delegates registered to attend and of those,
34 actually attended, a proportion better than most previous meetings.
The plenary
sessions were:
 | Focussing on Excel - Part 1 |
 | Electronic Document Management |
 | report 7 Update |
 | Focussing on Excel - Part 2 |
 | Web Expenses |
 | Dream 3.4 News |
We didn't get time to demo the DUG
software, because a couple of other sessions over-ran.
As well as the usual welcome
and website update, attendees had the opportunity to wander round the Zoo at
the end of the day.
Chris Stedham won the Top Hat champagne
prize, for submitting the most Known Problem Reports since the last meeting.
We are very much indebted to Mike Booty
for all the preparatory work he did for the meeting, and for his
presentation. Same goes for Sam Raven.
|
Philip Taylor gave his apologies for the meeting.
CODA didn't reply to our invitation, which
was a shame, but we were joined by Roger Martin of Ecom Software.
Feedback from delegates (out of 5) was:
 | Four sessions received under 4.0; |
 | Only one (Report 7, or more correctly
Insight BI) received 4.2. |
A big thanks to Graham Reardon of ISG for
his presentation.
The Focussing on Excel Part 2 session was
quite rightly marked down - more preparation required I feel...
The presentations we have in soft copy are available in the
members' website in the Spring 2010 meeting data folder.
Feedback about the meeting itself from
attendeeswas:
 |
The venue received an average score of 3.7 (out of 5) - down 0.7 |
 |
The catering received an average
score of 4.0 (out of 5) - up 0.2 |
 |
The location received an average
score of 3.6 (out of 5) - same |
 |
The organisation received an
average score of 3.4 (out of 5) - down 0.8 |
 |
The event format received an
average score of 3.4 (out of 5) - down 1.0 |
It appears to have been a less popular venue
than we would have expected. One anonymous feedback form marked the event
right down.
Users expressed the view that we need more
user presentations, and we will try to do that for the next meeting.
