| The User Group's new administrators have not
been involved in any of the previous discussions with CODA, so we can't
comment on what's happened before.
In January 2007, we started out thinking that CODA might re-engage with the User Group. However, here is the
latest about CODA and the DREAM User Group:
 | CODA were invited to our Spring 2007 meeting, but
declined to attend. |
 | Two long-serving council members wrote to CODA's Executive Chairman on the day of the
meeting asking him to support the DREAM User Group. He replied saying that
CODA would support only its own user group, not the independent one.
Despite a second letter from the council members, CODA are maintaining
this position. |
 | The correspondence can be seen on the members' website. |
 | We didn't invite CODA to our Autumn 2007 meeting, which
the meeting agreed had been a wrong move. |
 | CODA were invited to attend our Spring 2008 meeting,
and we even offered to pay them to attend, but they still declined. |
 | The correspondence can again be seen on the members' website. |
 | It's hard to imagine we will invite CODA to any future
meetings. It looks like their position is pretty clear - they only support
one user group - and that's not the independent one. |
In July 2008 we were told about some very interesting
comments by both the CODA CEO and the UK head of Agresso. These are not
outlined on this public site, but hopefully members will start threads on
the members site to discuss them.
We'd be interested to hear of any other software vendor
who cold-shoulders a long established and enthusiastic User Group.
It's all a great shame, really. |
